Business

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia, S.C.-based Terminix Service, Inc. recently announced the acquisition of two North Carolina pest control companies. Target Exterminating of Salisbury and AME Exterminating of Gastonia are the newest additions to the growing Terminix Service, Inc. family.  With 52 branch locations, Terminix Service, Inc. is the largest pest control company based in the Carolinas and among the top 10 in the country.

“We are excited to add these two well-respected businesses to our operation,” said Scott Fortson, president of Terminix Service, Inc. “Both AME Exterminating and Target Exterminating of North Carolina are highly regarded in the communities they serve. We are pleased with the opportunity to continue serving their valued customers.”
Mike Richards, of Target Exterminating, has retired after 34 years in the pest management industry.  Richards was very active in the Salisbury and Rowan County communities while with Target Exterminating, including donating pest control services to area organizations such as the YMCA and VFW. Terminix Service, Inc. intends to continue providing services to those clients.

“Mike has run a great operation over the past several decades, and is very well respected in the community,” said Fortson. We will work hard to maintain the business he developed, and provide a smooth transition for all of his customers.”

Terminix Service, Inc. is also in the process of purchasing Georgia accounts from Aiken Pest Control in Aiken, S.C.  With the mindset of switching their focus on developing their South Carolina client base, Aiken Pest Control will transfer Georgia accounts to Terminix, which will be serviced by the company’s branch locations in Augusta and Martinez.  Terminix Service, Inc. currently maintains operations in the Central Savannah River Area (CRSA) area of eastern Georgia.
