DELAND, Fla. — Aaron Pest Control is celebrating its 50th anniversary throughout 2013. Activities and social media campaigns are planned for the company’s golden anniversary. The fam-ily-owned and operated business opened its doors in DeLand in 1963 and has grown to provide pest control and lawn care to all of Central Florida.

“Fifty years is a remarkable milestone for any company to achieve,” said Phil Smith, president of Aaron Pest Control. “What makes the 50th anniversary even more remarkable is that Aaron remains the leading choice for proven elimination of termites and other pests from homes and structures. Since 1963, we have protected thousands of homes and businesses, and that number continues to increase each year. No service company can succeed without the support and cooperation of those who use it. The 50th anniversary of Aaron Pest Control is a celebration for our loyal customers."

Currently, Aaron Pest Control is running a social media campaign celebrating the “best lawn of the week,” offering contest winners $20 off their next invoice for one month of standard lawn service.

Aaron recently unveiled their new mascot “Aaron the Mouse,” who can be seen at community events such as DeLand High School Baseball home games. Aaron Pest Control also announced they are this year’s sponsor for the Deland High School Bulldogs baseball team. Look for pictures of Aaron the Mouse “practicing” with the team on both Aaron’s Facebook and website. Aaron Pest Control will be providing base-balls for every home game. Refer to the Aaron Pest Control website for a more detailed schedule of appearances by Aaron the Mouse.

To tie in with their golden anniversary, Aaron just unveiled a revamped website, at www.aaronpest.com. Kids are able to use the site as an educational tool to learn about Florida bugs with its interactive section for adventures and bug enthusiasts.

For this summer, Aaron Pest Control will kick off a Facebook contest where five lucky kids (from ages 1 to 12 years old) will get a chance to have Aaron the Mouse at their birthday party. Contest participants and their parents will have to write Aaron the Mouse a letter explaining why they want him at their birthday party. The contest will run June 1st through Aug. 31. Also in August, Aaron the Mouse and Aaron Pest Control will give away (50) Aaron Pest Control 50th anniversary backpacks to local area school kids.

To celebrate Halloween, Aaron the Mouse will host a family-friendly Creepy Crawler pizza party on Friday, Oct. 25 from 4-6 P.M. at Aaron Pest Control’s corporate offices in DeLand. There will be food, activities, games and prizes. Aaron Pest Control will also be giving away 50th anniversary trick or treat canvas bags with Halloween safety tips.

To kick off holiday shopping, Aaron Pest Control will host a “50th Anniversary Holiday Shopping Spree,” where anyone who signs up for new service is entered in to win a $50 Visa card beginning November 2013. A total of five Visa cards will be given out.

Wrapping up the 50th anniversary in December 2013, Aaron Pest Control will participate in the annual DeLand Christmas parade with a “Holiday Extravaganza” parade float. For more details on Aaron Pest Control’s golden anniversary, visit www.aaronpest.com.
