Dixon, 80, founded Dixon Exterminating, Thomasville, Ga., in 1964. The company today operates under the name Dixon Pest Services and is led by Tommy’s son, Charles Dixon.

THOMASVILLE, Ga. — Harry Thomas (Tommy) Dixon, founder of Dixon Exterminating, Thomasville, Ga., died on Thursday. He was 80.

Tommy founded Dixon Exterminating, Thomasville, Ga., in 1964. The company today operates under the name Dixon Pest Services and is led by Tommy’s son, Charles M. Dixon. Tommy graduated from Thomasville High School in 1951 and from the University of Georgia in 1956. He served in the United States Army from 1956 – 1958.

He is survived by wife Mary C. Dixon; son Charles M. Dixon and his wife Suzanne, son, Thomas M. Dixon, daughter, Sissy Faulk and her husband, Philip all of Thomasville and Susan Dixon Poirier and her husband Jeremy, of Shreveport, La. Also surviving are grandchildren, Ford and Will Faulk, Martha Grace and Mary Cathryn Dixon, and Dixon and Mary Poirier.

Services were held on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 425 North Broad St., Thomasville, GA 31792 or to a charity of one’s choice.
