The British Pest Control Association (BPCA) this week welcomed its new chief executive, Simon Forrester.

For the last five years Forrester has been chief executive at the Association of Interior Specialists (AIS) based in Solihull. AIS is an association not dissimilar in size and structure to BPCA. He is certainly no stranger to the world of trade associations having had over 15 years experience in strategic-level association management. BPCA, a national trade body with its headquarters based in the East Midlands, has almost 600 member companies from\ across the pest control sector.

Forrester said “I am really looking forward to getting to grips with a new industry, and so far I’ve been really enthused by the welcome and the obvious passion and professionalism. I hope to add value to the BPCA offering, and build on the strong foundations that exist within this, the leading association in the sector. I was drawn to the role because BPCA places great importance on promoting the highest standards of professionalism within the industry. It plays a major role in enhancing these through training courses, online learning & examinations, publications, exhibitions and conferences. There are many urgent issues in pest control at present, including tackling rogue traders who put the public at risk, which I want to tackle head on.”

BPCA President Martina Flynn said “A warm welcome to Simon, who we know will be a real asset not only to BPCA but to the wider industry.”

Before AIS, Forrester worked at the British Association of Conference Destinations and the British Dietetic Association. Prior to this he was employed at King's Healthcare NHS Trust. An MBA graduate from Birmingham City University, Forrester also has awards from London South Bank University and the University of Greenwich. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and also the Institute of Association Management.
