Barry Stangel Hosts ‘Train the Trainer’ Seminar

Stangel, president of The Pest Management Training & Consulting Center, hosted a special workshop presented by Ron Gardner and Dan Wexted of Cornell University’s education staff.

SUFFERN, N.Y.- Barry H. Stangel, president of The Pest Management Training & Consulting Center, hosted a special workshop presented by Ron Gardner and Dan Wexted of Cornell University’s education staff.

This special workshop was co-sponsored by the NYSDEC, which was represented by Herb Phelps and Rick Dickinson. 

The following  trainers were in attendance: Barry H. Stangel, Damisi Bailey, Paul Rowland, Kevin Hurley, Shweta Advani, Ralph Hernandez Maestre, Lynn A. Frank, Pat & Patricia Voges , Ed Sheehan, Bernard Wendell & Mike Deutsch.

Train The Trainer is a program created by Cornell University staff to assist the trainers who provide 30 hour Certification and Recertification credit programs for the pest management industry throughout New York State.

Train The Trainer program consists of guidelines presented in a series of 7 training module’s that cover the following topics:

What is a Pest
Types of pesticides
Storing Pesticides
Transporting Pesticides
Pesticide Security
Reading the Label
Tips for Taking the Certification Exam

All attendees agreed that the workshop proved to be highly successful. Some  members also agreed that it would be beneficial to hold joint training sessions with several trainers, each presenting a separate topic of expertise
