CRU Announces Updates to Pest Control Insurance Program

Capital Risk Underwriters is now offering Umbrellas, which are underwritten and issued on A-rated admitted paper.

| February 7, 2012

Capital Risk Underwriters is now offering Umbrellas, which are underwritten and issued on A-rated admitted paper. In addition, the Umbrella is issued with one carrier and can be used with our flexible payment plans. Other updates to the CRU’s Pest Control Insurance Program include:

Employment Practices Liability
Are your customers inquiring about EPLI coverage?  Is this exposure a coverage gap for your customer?  According to Jury Verdict Research, service and retail companies account for 41% of employee lawsuits, and the approximate greatest number of employee discrimination jury awards are for sex discrimination, race, disability and age.  CRU can offer you this coverage.

Bonds
CRU can handle bond needs. Fraud and embezzlement in the workplace is on the rise. The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) estimates business losses $400 billion per year or about 6% of total annual revenue. Small companies can be especially effected by theft and embezzlement because they can’t afford extensive safeguards and aren’t large enough to absorb losses. Workplace crime is carried out by employees 80% of the time. One in four employees who has committed fraud against their employer had been with the company more than ten years.
CRU’s bond product covers the customer for exposures. In addition, CRU’s crime coverage availability continues to offer the customized coverage needed in the industry.

CRU Coverage Forms
CRU reports that it continues to receive positive responses on its broadened coverage forms. As a reminder, CRU products do not contain a SILCA exclusion.  The insurance industry uses a variety of products that contain, or are deemed, SILICA.  While CRU has not seen claims from this area, nor would CRU deny such claims, the forms omission clears the way of the company’s true intent.

Small Business Products
CRU’s Small Business Product is a popular product for those who have blocks of small business (Gross Receipts $50K and below).  It is working for those whom have put in production.  Very few touches, its own abbreviated app, reduced loss control, $25 NPG fee and automatic renewal. CRU offers Workers Compensation for small PCOs on a “if any basis.” If your customer has no employees, that is okay. CRU has a product for them

Certificates of Insurance
Capital Risk Underwriters uses the most current edition ACORD forms, including Certificates of Insurance. A certificate of any kind other than ACORD is not approved, nor is the use of outdated ACORD editions. Adding text or writing in changes is prohibited. Should a certificate holder ask for or want something more than the current ACORD form provides, the Named Insured must request to have the policy endorsed.
