The New York Daily News recently profiled Michael Bohdan, curator of the Cockroach Hall of Fame, located in Plano, Texas.

In the article Bohdan said he estimates that 6,000 visitors “tour” the museum annually, and while they’re admiring the costumed deceased roaches, they can seek his advice on pest control. (He’s got a degree in zoology and 30 years in the pest control business; the Cockroach Hall of Fame has been open for 21 years.)

Plano’s been home for decades to Bohdan, who left Chicago because it was too cold.  Besides the Cockroach Hall of Fame, he’s the author of a book on home pest control called “What’s Buggin You?”  And after visitors have, um, admired the 25 roaches in the museum, they can shop his store: the enterprising Bohdan rents animal traps (humane, of course), and sells items such as T-shirts and mugs, all emblazoned with a giant you-know-what.
