TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — Critter Control pledged to support Council Rock School District (PA) in their participation in NASA’s Microgravity Experience Program. The Reduced Gravity Education Flight Program provides a unique academic experience for educators to successfully propose, design, fabricate, fly and evaluate a reduced gravity experiment.

Seven schools from across the country were selected from amongst thousands of applicants to design and test an experiment aboard NASA’s reduced gravity aircraft known as the “Vomit Comet.” The “vomit comet” is an acclaimed aircraft which is used to train astronauts in zero gravity circumstances, similar to the environment of space flight.

This unique opportunity will challenge students to design and build an experiment that has real world applications and puts learning into action. The project will motivate the next generation of explorers to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics as only NASA can do. Students will follow the scientific process throughout the project. Every step will be documented on a website that will accessible to schools and communities worldwide. Lesson plans will be included for schools and teachers to access and use to supplement their curricula (details of the project can be seen by clicking here).
