CHICAGO – DeMask Marketing introduces the “Bed Bug Marketing Kit,” a ready-to-use public relations campaign designed to give pest management professionals (PMPs) an affordable marketing solution for reaching out to new customers with fill-in-the-blank press releases and tailored local media lists.

The Bed Bug Marketing Kit consists of three press releases designed to target consumers in local markets where PMPs are working to fight the current bed bug infestation, and a media list of all local media in which to send them. The press releases are tailored with different aspects to give PMPs an affordable, yet effective way to reach out to consumers as a local expert in the pest control market.

The three releases, written in a fill-in-the-blank format that is easy for a PMP to customize and also is ready for local newspapers to run both online and in print, give pest control firms different options for reaching out to the media. DeMask Marketing provides the ongoing consultation and support to allow the PMP to deliver the releases to the media directly. The releases can also be used on PMPs Web sites to bolster their Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and provide current examples of bed bug work.

The first release is an announcement that the firm is a pest control leader and that its services are currently being used for bed bug control; the second focuses on a testimonial in which a current client’s name can be pasted into it showing that it has been successful at bed bug control; and the third provides tips and solutions for bed bug control – i.e., to contact the local PMP.

According to Ed DeMask, president of DeMask Marketing, a firm that specializes in working with pest control manufacturers and PMP end-users around the country, the kit is something that has been missing as a tool for local marketing.

“I’ve been working with PMPs for almost a decade and the one thing they don’t have is the time for is marketing and it’s something that’s crucial during this bed bug infestation,” DeMask said. “Most are in the field working with their technicians and marketing is a secondary need to most in this economy, but this makes it a priority again for PMPs and affordably. And similar marketing campaigns can easily be put together for ants, termites and general pests.”

DeMask Marketing is a full-service public relations, advertising and marketing firm that has been in business for four years in Batavia, Illinois. Ed DeMask has specialized in pest control marketing for about 10 years, focusing on providing manufacturers of insecticides, rodenticides, fungicides, herbicides and other products in the pest, turf and Ag markets with ongoing public relations, marketing and trade show support.
