PHILADELPHIA – FMC Professional Solutions, a business unit of FMC Corporation, has introduced CB-40 insecticide, a new water-based aerosol with an extensive spectrum of pests and application sites on the label – including direct application to mattresses for bed bug control.

CB-40 is designed to deliver the performance of an oil-based aerosol product, but was formulated with water as the primary carrier, providing effective control in an environmentally sensitive manner, FMC reports.

According to Chris Bowley, product manager, FMC Professional Solutions, CB-40 provides pest management professionals (PMPs) with a valuable tool to add to their bed bug control armory.

“A water-based aerosol gives PMPs a solution that can be used directly in the areas where bed bugs are most commonly discovered, such as mattresses and upholstered furniture without an oily residue that can create staining and potential odor problems.” Bowley said. “In addition, CB-40 has a broad label that permits treatment of pests in many environments, including applications to food-handling areas.”

“CB-40 is the third new product we have launched in 2010, following the introductions of Cynoff Insecticide dust (zeta-cypermethrin) and the all natural Topia aerosol. These product introductions are all being made in response to specific needs that PMPs are telling us they have and allow us to continue to live up to our commitment to Customer Driven Innovation.”
