Interesting article in the Wall Street Journal about the rise of wildlife problems.

Is this translating to more work for PCOs? I posed this question in an online poll.

What are your thoughts on wildlife management. Is this a growth segment for PCOs?

This is our first year offering wildlife management services. A increases in customers inquiring about wildlife over the past few years prompted us to make this addition. So far it has been a profitable add-on and hopefully it will continue to grow.

Btw Brad, Nice job on the video about the Kudzu bugs. It's nice to see them get some attention because they're really making a mess down here in the south.

Dylan, thanks for information on wildlife services. Also, I appreciate the feedback on the video. This is relatively new territory for PCT, so please let us know if there are other topics/speakers you would like to see. - Brad

Well we haven't had a lot of business in this area, but we are in the process of expanding into the more rural areas around Sacramento where hopefully we'll be able to pick up some of this business.

I have always wondered what people do with the raccoons, possums, etc. once you catch them?

What you do with the animals depends on what animal it is and it also varies by state. That whole "releasing it on a 8 million acre farm so it can live happily ever after" doesn't happen in NC

Truedat, Chris. I was one of the first Wildlife Damage Control Agents in NC and finally gave it up because people freaked out when I told them I would have to euthenize 'Rocky Racoon' instead of 'catch and release'.
"But he's so cute".
Whatever...

Yes, Brad it's a good business for us. I have also noticed that Critter Control is offering structural pest control services. We used to refer a lot of calls to them. Now we keep the trapping in-house.

Brandon-we use a CO2 chamber from Wildlife Control Supplies. It's as humane as I can find.
