For those of you who were not around in 1972...which is most of you: This is how the game is played: 1. EPA calls a news conference on Dec 24,1972 at 12 noon in Washington 2. EPA announces cancellation of Chlordane's Ag corn crop row label 3. EPA starts the slow cancellation of Chlordane label uses 4. EPA cancels termite label effective Aug 15,1987
It took 15 years...Chlordane was gone
Then Diazinon and Dursban ...ditto strategy
...do you see a pattern here...duh
Slowly...ever so slowly they take...whatever they choose.... and turn public opinion in their favor...slowly...ever so slowly
Yes, children the frog does boil to death in the pan...slowly ...ever so slowly...and never knows he is dying...until he is dead
Happy Thanksgiving

Anyone who has been looking has seen this happening for some time now. This is why I feel we need to develop new methods, not products, because products will come and go.

No offense Jeff, That's not a great strategy, the EPA / public swayed opinion will just keep moving the goal posts. Pest control is a targeted industry due to fear and mis information but mostly due to a lack of people standing up and telling the truth.
It's time to stand.

By the way Jeff, “methods” are also regulated by the EPA. An example of this would be Charles the guy who came up with the ozone treatment for bedbugs. He has monster generators that flood a home with massive amounts of ozone that kill any insect in the building. He has researched and perfected his methods including the use of carbon dioxide generators that bring the bugs out. (I am thinking that may also be fun to use with flea control to make the pupas pop.) His system works, BUT… because this method is not EPA approved he must also include a natural pesticide fog in order to be legal. And he cannot say that ozone kills bugs or he is in violation of federal law.

I don't want to get into the education side because of the misinformation on BOTH sides of that issue. I agree that it will continue, so maybe there is no real answer.
