You probably already figured this out...but to me this simple tip from my Ace Hardwareman
Really was a relief to two years of frustration and head scratching

Sometimes solutions are so just need a new set of eyes on the problem

The new Scott spreaders as you know are a one piece mold

You put Bifenthrin sand granules in a new one...and you will not make it around the house before it way to open it up and the old ones with screws

Well, my Ace Hardware man says,
Hey just drill small pin holes around the handle...then spray 10/40 oil into holes when it starts to jam

Stupid me...but good for him
Works like a charm

So I face the coming 2013 Spring/Summer season with a simple solution

Off the shelf come my "useless" Scott spreaders

If you already figured this out ...good for you... but please next time

I would be careful not to use oil on plastic spreader parts. Seen it dissolve them too many times. Use a good silicone lubricant instead.

Lets hope this product is able to solve the issue for a considerable time and give positive results every time. In case of any unusual response it must be checked to avoid any further bad effect.

I don't think the granules pass through the gear box in the handle. I think this is just a way lube some of the internals that are other wise inaccessible.
