2010 Fumigants & Pheromones Conference Focuses on Products, Producers

“Reducing customer complaints in stored products” is the theme for the 9th Fumigants & Pheromones Technical Conference & Workshop to be held March 3-5, in Valencia, Spain.

INDIANAPOLIS — “Reducing customer complaints in stored products” is the theme for the 9th Fumigants & Pheromones Technical Conference & Workshop to be held March 3-5, in Valencia, Spain. The conference will stress protecting product integrity and the reputation of the producer by using available, environmentally friendly products and methods.

“This conference is unique in that it focuses on the practical side of solving pest problems,” says Dave Mueller, owner of Insects Limited and Fumigation Service & Supply. “Valencia 2010 offers professionals from around the world a unique opportunity to share their experiences during the conference and workshop.”

Events on March 3 will include presentations from Mueller and Alain Van Ryckeghem, also from Insects Limited. Their presentations, Start with the Insects First and Insect-resistant Packaging, focus on reducing customer complaints in stored products. Benno Rubsamen from Dow AgroSciences, Germany, will speak about advances in the use of ProFume® gas fumigant in Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa. Alberto Martin of Dow AgroSciences, Spain, will talk about the use of ProFume gas fumigant in Spain.

The list of seminars on March 4 will include Sulfuryl Fluoride Fumigation of Structures, Grain and QPS, presented by John Mueller of Fumigation Service & Supply, United States. Other presentations will discuss updates on biocides, grain pest management and green products, as well as new stored product protection technologies.
On March 5, Jose Roca of Roca Defisan will demonstrate various stored product control programs in the busy Mediterranean Port of Valencia. This workshop will demonstrate how to prepare for a fumigation, grain and quarantine fumigations, new fumigation technology, fumigant detection and pheromone use.
