GPCA Installs Installs 2013-2014 Officers

NORCROSS, Ga. — At its recent summer conference, the Georgia Pest Control Association installed officers for the coming 2013-2014 year. 

Completing his tenure as GPCA President, Ted Veitch became the Chairman of the Board; Manuel Snipes assumed the leadership position of President; Jeff Dunn was elected to serve as Vice President; Shay Runion joins the Executive Board as Secretary/Treasurer.

Outgoing Chairman of the Board Dennis Judy installed the new officers thanking them for their service and commitment to the growth of the Georgia Pest Control Association during the next year.

Information about the officers:
Ted Veitch is employed by Cook’s Pest Control as a Technical consultant. Ted is responsible for overseeing quality assurance and regulatory adherences for Cook’s Pest Control in Ga. Ted is an approved speaker and has served as region director in region 4 and committee co-chair of the WDO committee for the GPCA. Ted resides in Dallas, Ga with his wife Cynthia and daughter Sydnee.

Manuel Snipes began in the pest control industry on August 26, 1978 with Vicco Exterminating Company. The company was sold in 1986 and the new owners changed the name to Peachstate Pest Control. He became a certified operator in categories 29 & 30. In 1988 Manuel began his own Pest Control Company; Interstate Exterminating and in 2005 purchased Azalea City Exterminating and merged the two companies together.

Jeff Dunn serves as Leader of Sales for Northwest Exterminating. As Leader of Sales, Jeff is responsible for the recruiting process, the hiring process, the training process, and the developmental process of Northwest’s sales teams. These sales teams include Residential, Commercial, Wildlife, Lawn Care, and the Call Center. Jeff enjoys the opportunity to assist Northwest Sales Team Mates in their professional development.  Jeff has served as an Instructor at the University of Georgia’s Instructor Urban and Structural Pest Management Certificate Program since its inception (April 2006).  Jeff frequently speaks at state, regional and national events Jeff has served in a number of leadership roles with the Georgia Pest Control Association.  Jeff resides in the Smyrna area with his wife Susan and daughters Caroline and Katherine.

Shay Runion, Senior Vice President of Professional Development/VP HR at Arrow Exterminators, Atlanta. She is responsible for creating, developing and implementing Arrow University, the company’s training program that uses advanced learning concepts and techniques to facilitate all training for the company, including manager, new employee and technical training.  In addition to Professional Development, Shay is also involved with Human Resources at Arrow.  Shay graduated from Auburn University in Agricultural Sciences and has a Master’s degree in Human Resources Development from Villanova University. Shay is a GA approved speaker, helps facilitate train-the-trainer, has served as the GPCA Leadership Chairman and the Education committee co-chair for several years.  She resides in Canton, GA with her husband Jeff and two boys, Zeb and Eason.
