The New Jersey company is celebrating its past achievements and highlighting its current strengths with the theme “40 Years Strong.”

MIDLAND PARK, N.J.  – Horizon Pest Control announces its 40th year serving its clients in Northern New Jersey.  Founder and President Bernie Holst, Jr., expressed his deep appreciation for the trust and loyalty his customers have placed in his firm over the past four decades.

Horizon will celebrate its past achievements and highlight its current strengths with the theme of “40 Years Strong.”  This is significant to Horizon’s clients and employees because it attests to the fact that Horizon is a company that they can count on to serve them and their communities for many years to come.

In 1970, Holst and his wife, Joyce, founded and built Horizon Pest Control from their home in Midland Park, N.J. Together, they laid the foundation for service excellence at Horizon:  “Let our family take care of your family.”  This simple concept truly sets Horizon apart because it demonstrates the owners’ commitment to treat every home and business as though it were their own. Today, Horizon continues to be family-owned and -operated as the second generation of the Holst family works to provide community members with the high level of pest control they expect as well as new services such as gutter cleaning, nuisance animal control and bird control. Horizon remains successful because of its continued dedication to the Horizon family…its family, its employees, its customers and its community. Its managers, technicians and customer service representatives work to meet the needs of our customers for fast, effective and environmentally friendly pest control solutions.

In addition to being a cornerstone of the Bergen County community for 40 years, Horizon’s leadership and reputation in the pest control industry sets it apart from the competition. Of his many achievements, Holst’s most prominent accolades include his election as president of the National Pest Management Association in 2006 and as president of the New Jersey Pest Management Association in 1990. Prior to these positions, he served on both organizations’ boards of directors for several years. Currently, Holst is the treasurer of the NJPMA, in his 38th year of membership to the Lion’s Club (where he also served as president for two terms) and a member of the Midland Park Town Council since 1996.

Always on the cutting edge of technique and technology, further evidence of Horizon’s leadership in the industry is their early adoption of “Quality Pro” certification — the industry’s standard for excellence. As the first member from the area to qualify to join this exclusive group, Horizon Pest Control has placed itself in the top echelon of pest management companies in the nation. By meeting specific industry certifications for Quality Pro, Horizon goes above and beyond to guarantee service through rigid hiring standards, guidelines for environmental stewardship, excellent consumer relations, and elite technician-training programs.

In 2008, the NPMA designated Horizon the first pest control company in the New Jersey area to achieve “Green Pro” status. This honor not only reflects Horizon’s exceptional pest management services but also its commitment to cultivating an environmentally responsible business.  “As a Green Pro expert, we are fully committed to providing customers not only with outstanding services but outstanding green services,” commented Holst.  “We recognize that our customers want to be confident that the services performed in their homes are environmentally sensitive.  Horizon Pest Control can assure customers of this as our practices and our business philosophy reflect green thinking.”

Today, Horizon continues to grow by offering additional services related to pest control, such as gutter cleaning, nuisance animal and bird exclusion, and bird control, while maintaining the same high-quality, timely and personalized service that they have had from the onset.
