NJPMA leadership rode their motorcycles to Virginia in support of Phil Cooper’s MS fundraiser.
The executive leadership of the New Jersey Pest Management Association rode their motorcycles to Virginia Tech University to join Phil Cooper and his MS Fundraiser, Phil Across America.
Current president, Ralph Cittarella, joined past presidents Garry Milsom and Bernie Holst in making the 370 mile ride to Blacksburg, Va. The group of pest management professionals came out to support Phil Cooper and the Bike the US for MS team, comprised of 18 cyclists. The group is traveling from Yorktown, Va., arriving in San Francisco, Calif., on August 1.
The New Jersey contingent arrived on June 7, having dinner with Dr. Dini Miller and her grad students working on bed bugs, Molly Stedfast and Brittany Delong.
At the crack of dawn Friday, the jersey contingent gathered with the Bike the US Team to give them a big send them off and then met the team at the first rest stop rooting each rider in.
Milsom commented, "The ride down and back was a grueling and a long route but it was absolutely worth it. I found meeting and seeing the people involved in the group fascinating. Listening to the various stories and how all these people are coming together for one single cause was great to see. It points out how there are other things that are more important than work."
Cooper, currently the President-Elect for NJPMA was ecstatic over the New Jersey showing, “I cannot tell you how much it means to me for my friends and colleagues to travel so far for such a short visit. It shows their commitment to the industry and all the things we do to give back to society. I will remember their presence on the bike ride forever.”
