NPMA on the Offensive Following Inaccurate Industry Depiction in MSN Story

News Coverage

NPMA's consumer education arm contacted MSN today to address their journalistic inaccuracies and to ask for the removal of the story.

| June 3, 2010

FAIRFAX, Va. - MSN ran a feature story today that inaccurately and incorrectly depicts the professional pest management industry. The original version of this article first ran in 2007 in Smart Money magazine and has been repurposed several times since then, with almost no changes made to correct out-of-date and inaccurate data. While NPMA has issued previous responses and even talked with the Editor-in-Chief of Smart Money magazine last summer, when the article last appeared to encourage factual reporting about the pest control industry, no changes were made to the feature that appeared on MSN today.  The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), NPMA's consumer education arm, contacted MSN today to address their journalistic inaccuracies and to ask for the removal of the story.
