TLANTA — Orkin announced that it has established a new franchise in Boise, Idaho by combining its local market operations with those of Sawyer Inc., a Boise-based company providing pest management services throughout southern Idaho. Todd Sawyer, president of Sawyer Inc. will own and operate the combined franchise entity.

Combining two separate operations under a unified brand is referred to as reverse franchising.

“This is a business development model that is appealing to owners of local and regional pest control companies looking to accelerate their growth,” said Mike Wakefield, Orkin’s director of franchising. “Under this model, those owners can re-brand their operations as Orkin and take advantage of all the benefits that accrue from Orkin’s worldwide brand recognition, technical expertise, marketing campaigns, lead generation and buying leverage.”

The Boise operation will service both residential and commercial customers in 35 counties in Idaho and parts of Oregon and Wyoming. With four associate certified entomologists (ACEs) on staff, a National Entomology Scent Detection Canine Association (NESDCA) accredited K-9 bed bug detection team, and the only urban industrial board certified entomologist (BCE) in the state, the franchise is well positioned to deliver superior service to residential, commercial and industrial customers in southern Idaho.
