Professional Women in Pest Management (PWIPM) announced the first-ever PWIPM Fun Run/Walk - a 5K run/walk to raise money for breast cancer that will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 20 in conjunction with PestWorld 2010.  In honor of October being breast cancer awareness month, PWIPM's goal is to raise $5,000 that will go to the Susan G Komen Foundation.

The Cause

Breast cancer has impacted many of our lives in one way or another. We all have stories to share and loved ones we know have suffered or lost because of breast cancer.  However, there is hope.  As an industry we can make an impact.  We can come together for a cause and bring hope to those who need it.  Let's join together, put on our running shoes and make a difference in someone's life.

Perfect Timing and a Perfect Location
October is breast cancer awareness month and this year for PestWorld we also happen to be in Hawaii.  The fun run/walk will be held in nearby Kapiolani Park, which has hosted many similar events and is the perfect location!  The fun run/walk begins at 6:30 a.m. and shuttle service from the Hilton Hawaiian Village will begin at 5:30 a.m.

Registration & Donations
The registration fee is $25 per person and part of the registration fee as well as any additional donations will go to the Susan G Komen Foundation.  The goal is to raise $5,000.  All are welcome!  This isn't just for the ladies - men are encouraged to participate and you do not have to be a member of NPMA.  The registration fee enters you into the run/walk and you will also receive a PWIPM 2010 Fun Run T-shirt and gift bag.
