PestPractice is a New Online Pest Control Training and Development Tool

International News

Developed in the UK, PestPractice focuses exclusively on the needs of pest management using high quality video presentations from recognized industry experts.

| November 18, 2011

All pest professionals need to keep up-to-date, but it can often be difficult to spare the time to attend training seminars and conferences. PestPractice is a new online training tool that provides a convenient, cost effective solution to this problem. Visit www.pestpractice.com.

Developed in the UK, PestPractice focuses exclusively on the needs of pest management. It delivers high quality video presentations, from recognized industry experts, on demand, via the web – meaning you can watch it anywhere in the world. The first six modules have a strong technical element, but plans are already being made to extend the topics covered to include business and management skills.

This format also means that training can be precisely targeted to your needs, or the needs of your team. You are in control and can select which sessions to watch. In this way you only pay for what you need and you don’t have to sit through presentations on topics which are simply not relevant.

All you need to participate is either a laptop or a PC with sound and an internet connection. Signing-up takes just a few minutes and once your account is created you can access any, or all, of the webinars immediately. Each webinar last around 40 to 45 minutes.

The concept has been developed by two of the UK’s top technical experts, Adrian Meyer from Acheta and Clive Boase from the Pest Management Consultancy. Both have worked extensively around the world and are frequently to be heard on conference platforms at international events. They have worked closely with new media company Glow, the people behind the UK’s leading internet forum, Pest Control Portal, and Pest, the UK’s only independent magazine and digital news service for the pest management industry.

“In a competitive world, the need for technical training has never been greater,” suggests Adrian Meyer. “Whilst nothing will replace on-site practical and group training, the benefits of access to high quality, targeted technical training and refresher sessions, taken at a time and place of your choosing are clear for all to see. No travel costs, minimal time away from work and the ability to choose the combination of topics that suit your personal needs, make these webinars attractive and very cost effective.”

Glow’s Phil Blything comments: "We brought together the latest in technology including scalable video streaming, with our proprietary presentation delivery system, then we worked hard to make all of that fade into the background so that the user just has to choose what they want, then view it. PestPractice manages the rest."

Clive Boase adds: “PestPractice offers a growing portfolio of highly professional presentations that can be viewed anytime, anywhere and by an individual or the whole team. With PestPractice, you not only work harder, but smarter."

The first six modules, recorded by Adrian and Clive, are now available for viewing at www.pestpractice.com

These are on:

Understanding house mouse behaviour & its impact on effective control

Keep it legal - mammal protection requirements

Rodenticide labels - a guided tour

Squeezing the best from insecticide gels

Phantom biting - causes and solutions

Insecticide labels - a guided tour

More topics will be added over the coming months and not just on technical matters, but also management and business skills. In short, pest control training and development has never been easier!
