Rosenberg Provides a Progress Report on NPMA’s Strategic Plan

At PestWorld 2013, NPMA Executive Vice President Bob Rosenberg reviewed the ‘tactical roadmap’ the association is following to achieve goals set forth in its Strategic Plan.

PHOENIX, Ariz. — More than 3,000 industry professionals from 40-plus countries, including a record number of exhibitors, have traveled to Phoenix, Ariz., for PestWorld ’13.

NPMA Executive Vice President Bob Rosenberg kicked off the conference by reviewing the ‘tactical roadmap’ the association is following to achieve goals set forth in its Strategic Plan.

“A year ago we told you about the creation of NPMA’s Strategic Plan and we told you that in order to achieve the goals set forth in that plan your staff would develop a tactical roadmap,” he said. “This roadmap would be where the rubber meets the road…and boy did it ever.”

Some of the association’s accomplishments this past year, Rosenberg reported, include: Creation and implementation of the association’s new logo and tagline “Our mission is your protection”; hiring new staff to better support advocacy, membership and technical needs; establishing a career center to aid members’ search for qualified employees; reinvigorating meetings and events; and finding ways to work more effectively with its partners.

Jeff Keller, president of the Arizona Pest Professional Organization, welcomed PestWorld attendees to his home state.

Rosenberg also said NPMA is excited about initiatives it has planned in the coming year including:

·         A membership Web portal showcasing new and improved benefits

·         An enhanced online training center

·         New conferences focused on issues that impact PCOs daily

Following Rosenberg’s comments was the Opening Ceremony, sponsored by Bayer, featuring String Theory, a collaborative ensemble of musicians who transform the Phoenix Convention Center Ballroom into a giant harp. A highlight was the group’s rendition of the Pink Floyd classic “Breathe.”

At the Opening Ceremony's conclusion, attendees proceeded to the exhibit hall to check out the latest offerings from industry suppliers.
