ROSELLE, N.J. — Chris Donaghy, president and CEO of Residex, said the company believes that those who “sacrificed in selfless acts to protect and preserve the freedoms and liberty of Americans and oppressed countries” deserve more than the single-day remembrance (Memorial Day) at the end of the month.

Residex is encouraging employees, customers or vendors who knew of a lost serviceman or servicewoman, to post their name and era of their loss on the Residex blog.

Included on this blog is Donaghy’s poem “One Unknown,” which he wrote after an inspirational visit to a cemetery in Key West, Fla., where some of the dead from the USS Maine are buried. Several of the men’s plain white marble stones were marked as “One Unknown”. The intent of this poem was to give the “Unknowns” their identity back. It was also intended to honor all of the unknown soldiers from all U.S. campaigns.

The USS Maine exploded in Havana Harbor, Cuba in 1898, and sparked the Spanish American War in which the U.S. emerged as the world’s No. 1 Superpower.
