MANASSAS, Va. — On Sept. 14, the World Detector Dog Organization is conducting a mock court for the benefit of its members and others who handle scent detection dogs. The mock court starts at 10 a.m., at the Prince William Circuit Court, 9311 Lee Ave., Manassas, Va. 20110. Click here to download the registration form.

Law enforcement personnel are accustomed to giving testimony, but this is a whole new area for many in the pest detection industry. After $800,000 was awarded to a Baltimore tenant suing an apartment building, this is now in the forefront.

The World Detector Dog Organization is using this educational event to prepare its members. Commonwealth Attorney Sandy Sylvester, who regularly trains the law enforcement people, will be one of the key players in this event. World-famous dog trainer David Latimer from Alabama is not only participating, but is also conducting a workshop on Thursday and Friday before the Mock Court for members (click here to download the registration form). Internationally known scientist Dr. Larry Myers of Auburn University is also participating.

Although these events are for the benefit of WDDO members, non-members are very welcome to participate.
