LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. — BedBug Central announced that Allie Taisey of Cornell University has joined its team of nationally regarded entomologists.

Phil Cooper, president of BedBug Central, personally selected Taisey to work with the company’s team of noted entomologists, Richard Cooper and Jeffrey White, due to her specialization in both entomology and education.

“The entire BedBug Central team is ecstatic to have Allie join our ranks,” said Cooper. “Allie’s unique combination of skill-sets in education and entomology coupled with her effervescent personality has brought her tremendous success in program development and educating a diverse group of sectors and people about bed bugs.”

Taisey comes from the Northeastern IPM Center at Cornell University where she has helped spearhead IPM initiatives funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Presently, Taisey continues to work with more than 14 housing authorities across the country on projects that bridge the gap between research and real-world implementation of IPM practices.

As a member of the BedBug Central team, her current specialization will be expanded to include consulting, bed bug research and developing management strategies in both public and private sector industries. Taisey is particularly excited about developing programs that are both financially feasible and effective for clients with complex needs.

“I have been following BedBug Central for years and it is impressive to see how the company achieves the balance between research recommendations and real world scenarios to create effective programs that work on many levels,” said Taisey.

Taisey will officially start at BedBug Central in mid-July, after which she will immediately begin speaking engagements and consulting on the development of bed bug management plans.
