U.S. Pest Celebrates 25 Years of Service to the Nashville Area

The company is under the direction of second generation president Erica Brister.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — In May 2010, U.S. Pest Protection Company will commemorate 25 years of service to the greater Nashville area. President Erica Brister, one of the youngest women presidents in the industry, will turn just 30 the same month. Founded by her parents in 1985, U.S. Pest is proud to mark the longstanding achievements of the company and the successful transition to a second generation of leadership. Brister graduated from Emerson College (Boston, Mass.) in 2005 with a degree in political science, management.

Brister returned to Nashville in 2006 to begin a career at U.S. Pest. She quickly gained a working knowledge of all aspects of the business including marketing, branch management, operations, accounting and sales, while being primed for the president’s seat. Brister says, “I love this industry, U.S. Pest, and the communities we serve.”

According to Sam Peden, chief financial officer, former president, and co-founder of the company, “Everyone at U.S. Pest is so excited and enthused about the future of the company and where we are headed under Erica’s leadership. She is enthusiastic, positive, and extremely intelligent. She has exactly what it takes to grow U.S. Pest. I am incredibly proud to watch her success.” 

Over the past quarter century, U.S. Pest has steadily grown to over $4 million in revenue by serving one customer at a time. Under Brister's leadership, the company’s vision is to become the largest privately owned pest control company in the southeast region by 2025 while continuing to deliver unparalleled customer service and a commitment to delivering safer products and services.

Commenting on U.S. Pest’s vision, Brister says, “My father instilled in me a passion for sales, customer satisfaction, and a deep appreciation of each and every employee. This will make U.S. Pest’s vision a reality.”
