COLUMBUS, Ohio – Witt Pest Management, one of the industry’s oldest and most progressive pest control companies, recently announced it has upgraded its pest management practices by outfitting its field technicians with iPhones loaded with ServSuite Mobile software.

As one of many companies that previously used Windows Mobile rugged handhelds, Witt Pest Management understands the benefits and business efficiencies offered by portable handheld units. Some of those benefits include the ability to send emails en route to an account; their compact size, which allows the handheld unit to fit into a hip holster, thereby enabling technicians to bring it along even when servicing the tightest of spaces; and the ability to scan barcodes in those high-end accounts requiring such a service.

The Windows Mobile rugged handheld was an excellent introduction to the mobile handheld segment for many pest control companies. However, companies like Witt Pest Management have discovered greater convenience and ease of use by switching to smartphones or tablets to conduct their daily work, according to The Service Pro.net, Columbus, Ohio.

With the popularity of smartphones and tablets, there have been a growing number of pest control companies using mobile pest control software solutions like ServSuite Mobile on their smartphones and tablets. Always looking to innovate, Witt Pest Management decided to be one of these companies, and just a few months ago made the move to ServSuite Mobile-loaded iPhones, outfitting their technicians with the state-of-the-art technology.

ServSuite Mobile is the newest addition to the ServSuite family of products. It is not just an add-on module, according to Andy Deering, COO, The Service Pro.net, but a complete companion to the company’s ServSuite web application.

“With the ServSuite Mobile application, PMPs can access the following features of the ServSuite program: synchronize technician schedules, reschedule services, view service/estimate history, perform services, view basic account information and see real-time productivity,” he said.

In addition, ServSuite Mobile is available in multiple platforms, and can be accessed easily by a service technician from the following devices: iPad/iPhone, Android Tablet/Smartphone and the Blackberry tablet. “This money-saving feature gives PMPs access to vital information no matter where they are or what platform or device they have access to,” according to Deering.

“With ServSuite Mobile, you or your pest control technician can connect with or without a mobile data connection,” he says. “Plus, you can synchronize in real time with the ServSuite web application, whether in the office or out in the field. You can also choose the level and degree of security for each user. All these features are there to help you with your mobile software needs.”

According to Adam Witt, vice president, Witt Pest Management, Pittsburgh, Pa., the company is very happy with the upgrade from rugged handhelds to iPhones loaded with ServSuite Mobile for several reasons. The ease and simplicity of using smartphones and tablets over handhelds, along with the ability to leverage the many productivity apps a smartphone offers – from photo capture to the NPMA Field Guide – were just a few of the benefits of using the new iPhones.

Such benefits have helped Witt Pest Management build a strong culture of reliability and reinforced the company’s image as a technology leader, resulting in an enhanced customer service experience for its growing client base.
