DECATUR, Ala. — Brian Cook, customer care manager of Cook’s Pest Control, has been elected to the board of directors of Not Forgotten, Inc., a non-profit organization focused on helping Peruvian street boys.

Some of these boys, as young as five and six years old, have been thrown to the street by their own mothers due to extreme poverty and other socioeconomic issues. Cook first visited a home for former street boys (located on a tributary of the Amazon River) in 2004. Since then, he has returned four times on trips aimed at sharing the love of Christ through on-going construction work, teaching English through Bible lessons, and spending quality time playing and talking with the children. Not Forgotten was incorporated in 2007 while Cook was in graduate school, when he developed the organization’s business plan. He has continued to develop marketing materials while serving as Vice-President of Not Forgotten. To learn more about the organization, visit www.NotForgotten.org.

Cook also serves on the Board of Neighborhood Christian Center, a non-profit organization reaching out to meet the physical, relational and spiritual needs of the poor in Decatur, Ala.
