Three from Fischer Earn A.C.E. Status

Steven Dupuy, Eddie Stroud, and Robert L. Kunst of Fischer Environmental Services are now Associated Certified Entomologists (A.C.E.'s)

January 18, 2012

MANDEVILLE, La. — The Entomological Society of America (ESA) announced that Steven Dupuy, Eddie Stroud, and Robert L. Kunst of Fischer Environmental Services passed their final certification exam and achieved their Associated Certified Entomologist degree (A.C.E.). Only five other pest management professionals in Louisiana and Mississippi have achieved this level of professionalism.

“To achieve this level of certification each of these professionals must have at least seven years of practical experience coupled with full licensing by the state regulatory board and then pass the most stringent proctored national testing offered by the ESA and pledge to uphold the ESA’s Code of Ethics,” said Chris Stelzig, certification coordinator for ESA.

Kunst said, “It really feels great to reach this level of professionalism. The ESA certification board knows how increasingly important to the health and welfare of the public that professionalism in pest control is and they have done their best to provide a path for pest control operators to follow so that they may raise the levels of knowledge needed to care for and protect the public from the many disease vectoring domestic and invasive species of insects and help lower food costs by preventing loss due to infestation and contamination.”

Stelzig added, “Their A.C.E. designation is clear evidence to the general public that they have undergone a rigorous testing program that included evaluation of their education and experience by their peers and they should be justifiably proud of their accomplishments and we congratulate them on their distinct achievement.”
