COLUMBUS, Ohio - Lonnie Alonso, president of Columbus Pest Control appeared on a CBS Evening News segment on bed bugs. The news report noted that nationally since 2006 the money spent eradicating bed bugs has more than doubled, topping $250 million dollars.
EPA recently rejected Ohio’s request for a Section 18 Exemption for the use of three formulations of propoxur for the control of bed bugs in residential single or multiple unit dwellings, apartments, hotels, motels, office buildings, modes of transportation and commercial industrial buildings.
Alonso told CBS News,"The other options of newer technologies, newer chemicals that will come down the pike, those things will take a long time. We need short term solutions."
