RALEIGH, N.C.. – The North Carolina Pest Management Association (NCPMA) convened its 64th Annual Pest Control Technicians’ School at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in Durham. Hundreds of pest management experts and technicians convened to learn about the latest techniques and research in pest management and to discuss the future of the pest management industry.

This gathering is one of the nation’s largest pest control technician schools.

The conference convened at 1 p.m. with the opening session and a keynote address by a panel of pest management experts entitled “Vision 2020 – Focusing on the Future and Driving Change in the Pest Control Industry.”

“The pest management industry is constantly evolving, and the North Carolina Pest Management Association strives to give its members the most current training and education available. In addition to providing classes about the latest techniques and technology for managing current pest problems, we are examining the future of the pest management industry and how today’s pest management issues will change in the coming decades,” said Lee Smith, NCPMA board member. “For more than 60 years, North Carolina’s Pest Control Technician’s School has provided North Carolina’s pest management experts with the most current and thorough training available, and we are proud to continue that tradition.”

In addition, the NCPMA offered training and renewal classes for its Wood-Destroying Insects Report (WDIR) Accreditation program.

The PCT School began today and continues through Thursday, Jan. 30.
