January 29, 2014

NWCOA's Bat Standards Compliant Training Course is being offered in Colorado on Feb. 8, 2014, and hosted by the CWCOA (Colorado Wildlife Control Operaters Association).

February 8, 2014 - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Ramada Plaza Denver Central
4849 Bannock St.
Denver, CO 80216

Registration fee is $150 for members or non-members.

NWCOA has identified a need to define and quantify what constitutes a professional bat roost mitigation from structures and to inform service providers regarding the impact of White Nose syndrome on existing bat populations. The goal is to emphasize the importance of resolving human/bat conflicts in a manner that both protects human health and provides a conservation-minded approach to protecting our wild bat resources.

The purpose of the training manual and course is to define Standards of Practice and establish a minimum uniform standard for WCO’s when performing bat-related work to resolve conflicts between humans, bats and structures. The intent is that these standards be recognized and accepted by governmental regulators and professional groups as the minimum definitive and technical standards for professionals.

This course will be taught by Jason Reger, President of NWCOA and Stephen Vantassel, Director of the ICWDM website.

Those who complete the course receive an extensive manual and NWCOA certification.

Rooms are available at the Ramada at the discounted room rate of $79 + tax.  Call the hotel at 303/292-9500 to make reservations; mention that you are with CWCOA to get the discounted rate.
