ATLANTA – Orkin announced the promotion of Freeman Elliott to president of Orkin’s Atlantic Division and Matthew Peterson to director of government and environmental affairs.

“Freeman has risen through the Orkin ranks, working in both commercial and residential sales and operations for the company,” said John Wilson, president, Orkin USA. “His leadership will allow us to continue to execute our business plans and continue to provide our customers with extraordinary pest control service.”

Elliott began his Orkin career as a lawn care technician in 1991, following graduation from the University of Georgia. He quickly moved through the Company, working as service manager, branch manager, national service manager, assistant to the president of Orkin’s Atlantic Division and, most recently, vice president of that division. In his new role, Elliott oversees approximately 70 locations in Orkin’s Atlantic Division.

Peterson originally joined Orkin in 2005 as a division technical services manager for the company’s Southeast division where he worked directly with branches to provide professional technical expertise and training on customer service and pest treatment approaches. Before joining Orkin, Peterson worked for Terminix in operations management.

“Matt has made enormous contributions to the company,” said Chris Gorecki, vice president, government and environmental affairs, Rollins, Inc. “I look forward to his continued success as our department continues to support field operations and the home office.”

Peterson graduated from the University of Florida where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in entomology and nematology.  Peterson, his wife, Gia, and their three daughters, Emily, Natalie and Noelle, have relocated from Jacksonville, Fla. to Atlanta.
