MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Golfers from around the pest control industry joined Liphatech representatives in the company's FirstStrike Golf Challenge during the recent PestWorld 2011 show in New Orleans.
Liphatech featured the hole-in-one golf event in its booth at the show. More than 200 golfers lined up their best shot during exhibition hours at the four-day show.
Determining winners during the event was based on those participants who made a hole in one on the artificial-turf course. Those who made the shot were given a spin on the Liphatech prize wheel, where winners could take home anything from an eight-pound pail of FirstStrike to a FirstStrike-branded hat and golf-themed promotional items. Each participant in the challenge was entered into a daily drawing for a $200 gift card.
Gift-card winners included Jonathan Martin of Tri State Termite, Clarksdale, Miss.; Steve Knight, Terminix Co. of North Carolina, Fayetteville, NC.; Stan Dawkins, Eden Advanced Pest Technologies, Olympia, WA and Deni Naumann, Copesan Services, Menomonee Falls, Wis.
“We're at the show to call attention to our products and services, but we want to do it in an interesting and fun way. I think we accomplished that," said Jim Doll, senior marketing manager, pest management division, Liphatech.
In addition to the FirstStrike Golf Challenge, the booth also had a “guessing game” to estimate how many doubloons were in a clear container. The Doubloon Winner was Randy Condomitti from Rid-ET Pest Control, Nazareth, Penn.
