Evansville, Ind. — Kevin C. Pass, president and CEO of Action Pest Control, announced that Keith Smith has assumed an equity position in Action Pest Control. Smith’s new title is chief operating officer, which is more reflective of his increasing role in the future of Action, Pass said.
“Keith plays a key role in providing for the continued growth of Action,” Pass stated. “We are excited about what’s in store for 2011 and are fortunate to have such an experienced, proven individual in this key leadership position.”
Smith previously served as operations manager with Action Pest Control for the last three years. Prior to coming to Action Pest Control, he held various management positions in the pest control industry with more than 15 years experience. Smith holds a bachelor of science degree in finance from Murray State University.

PHILADELPHIA, PA. – FMC Professional Solutions (FPS) recently announced it is expanding and reorganizing its field operations to ensure more market support for the pest control, turf and ornamental industries. The new field organization is part of FPS’s long-term growth strategy designed to increase the level of customer support, according to the company.
“There are a number of exciting new opportunities at FMC that our existing structure would not support in the long term,” said Amy O’Shea, director of FMC Professional Solutions. “This new organizational structure allows for much more customer focus and better enables us to identify and solve the challenges that our customers face every day.”
The reorganization creates new positions while redefining the focus of those already in the field. One of those new positions is commercial development manager – one for pest and one for turf & ornamental market segments – that will manage a team of market specialists throughout the United States and in all professional market segments. They will also collaborate with FMC marketing, and work with key account managers in the development and execution of business strategy.
In addition, FMC created new key accounts manager roles for each market segment that will focus on national and other major customers to strengthen existing relationships and build for the future.
Fourteen market specialists – seven for each segment – will collaborate with marketing, key accounts management and product development. Their goal is to provide increased product stewardship and support of FMC products through increased customer contact, as well as demonstrations and training, according to the company.
“FMC Professional Solutions is investing in the industries that have been so good to us through the years,” said O’Shea. “This enlarged, enhanced field force will allow us to better focus on our strategic growth initiatives. Our ultimate goal is more frequent contact with our customers, resulting in stronger support and closer, more intimate customer relationships.”
