MGK announces the launch of Hyperion Advanced Mist Concentrate, a new product that delivers contact kill and three-day residual activity against mosquitoes.

Hyperion is engineered for use in misting systems, and utilizes a proprietary MGK formulation that allows stable dilution in water and is effective at very low mix rates. It is the first residential misting product that features an active ingredient (Sumithrin) that has been widely used to combat many notable mosquito outbreaks following Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita, as well as during the West Nile virus outbreak of 2012, the manufacturer reports.

Hyperion “delivers advanced technology that is based on an active ingredient that is new to the mosquito misting market, so it expands our mosquito portfolio dramatically,” says Monika Morris, market manager for branded products. “Having the next generation of misting technology that is proven to deliver residual activity for up to three days adds to every mosquito control professional’s arsenal of mosquito control solutions.” Hyperion can be applied outdoors with backpack sprayers and blowers, as well as handheld sprayers, in and around horse barns and in residential misting systems. Hyperion is effective against mosquitoes, stable flies, firebrats, ants, flying moths and other nuisance insects, the firm reports.

Marathon Data Systems
Marathon Data Systems has introduced PestPac Mobile 2.0, offering an easy-to-use, smart way to perform in the field, according to the firm.

Marathon says it was one of the first in the industry to introduce a Windows 6.5 mobile application — the original PestPac Mobile. Both mobile versions have similar basic functionality for technicians in the field. Both versions allow users to access customer contact information, record and accept credit card payments securely in the field, record signatures, print detailed reports and auto-email invoices.

PestPac Mobile 2.0 accomplishes increased data accuracy due to its live data synchronization (over a cellular or WiFi connection) to its office software, PestPac. Also, it incorporates new intuitive, easy-to-use “wizards,” such as the material entry wizard. PestPac Mobile 2.0 reduces hardware expenses and makes it a painless transition to a smartphone that the technician already knows how to use, according to Marathon.

National Radon Defense
National Radon Defense (NRD) is seeking pest control businesses to work with to offer radon testing. Radon is an odorless, colorless gas that can seep into a building through cracks, and exposure can be harmful. “It makes a lot of sense for pest control companies to expand their offerings to radon mitigation,” said Curt Drew, owner of National Radon Defense. “Besides being able to offer this service to your current customers, radon mitigation takes about the same time and resources as a termite treatment.”

Pest control companies that partner with National Radon Defense receive an exclusive marketing territory and technical support, the firm said. In addition, there is no large upfront franchise fee, no royalty based on a percentage of sales, no long-term contract required and no need to change the name of your business, according to the NRD website.
