WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University's Entomology department has added Dr. Ameya Gondhaleker as a research asssistant professor.
Gondhaleker's interestes and goals include:
- Investigaing molecular mechanisms of insecticide resistance in German cockroaches and bed bugs with an ultimagte goal of finding ways to overcome resistance;
- Unvravel mechanisms underlying various physiological phenomena in urban insects using next-generation sequencing, proteomics and functional genomics
- Conduct basic research for enhancing the efficacy of non-chemical techniques used for managing urban pests
Gondhaleker brings more than five years of experience in basic and applied urban entomology research. A majority of his previous research has been conducted in collaboration with the pest management industry.
