HICKORY, N.C. — Mosquito Authority announces that it has hired Craig Stoops as its Chief Science Officer. The position was created to establish a Research and Development branch of the company that will develop and test novel mosquito and other pest control technologies.
“I am very happy to join Mosquito Authority. In addition to developing new mosquito and pest control technologies, there are a lot of novel mosquito control products already on the market and I am looking forward to testing these products to ensure we have the best technology available for our customers," says Stoops.
Joey Osborne, founder and CEO of Mosquito Authority, says, "Bringing Craig on board as Chief Science Officer strengthens our already solid commitment to the science behind mosquito control. His expertise and experience will ensure that as Mosquito Authority grows we are providing the most scientifically sound and innovative solutions to our customers."
Stoops has a M.S. and Ph.D. in entomology from Clemson University, recently retiring from the U.S. Navy after serving as a medical entomologist for 20 years. Much of his career was focused on development of mosquito and vector control technologies, conducting research projects across the United States and in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Liberia, Honduras and Peru. He is also Board Certified in Medical and Veterinary Entomology by the Entomological Society of America.
“We are extremely pleased that Dr. Stoops has accepted our offer to join the Mosquito Authority management team. As a world class entomologist and mosquito expert, his addition to our team exponentially differentiates Mosquito Authority from all competition and is a tremendous benefit to our customers and stakeholders." says Tim Templeton, COO.
Stoops has established a laboratory in Green Cove Springs FL, that will be the center of Mosquito Authority R&D projects focusing on development of pesticide application equipment, novel control methods and insecticide resistance testing.
