NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. —Rockwell Labs
announced a series of personnel changes including the appointment of Mike Tweedy as vice president of sales and marketing.
Tweedy received his BS and MS degrees from Southern Illinois University and spent eight years with American Cyanamid and BASF in marketing and technical management roles in the crop protection and vegetation management businesses. In 2003, he joined Syngenta and entered the professional pest management field, holding various positions in marketing management and sales. In 2010 he was appointed vice president, sales with Envincio LLC and was instrumental in the team that led the merger with Prentiss, in 2011.
“Last fall, we developed a strategic objective to improve our sales and marketing execution,” said Dr. Cisse Spragins, Rockwell founder and CEO. “We’ve done some reorganizing of our sales force towards that objective, and creating this new position was a key part of our strategy. I could not be more delighted to have Mike on board. He’s had some great experience with the multi-nationals, but I also regard his last couple of years in a more entrepreneurial environment to be key in readying him for this position. And I think we offer a great opportunity for him to reach his career potential. In short, he’s ready for us and we’re ready for him. Mike and I mesh quite well in terms of style and our respective strengths complement each other extremely well. Having him on board will not only improve our sales and marketing execution, but will also allow me more time to focus on driving innovation in the business, and insuring that we have the infrastructure in place to support our growth.”
Tweedy will remain located in the Atlanta metro area. He can be reached at 770/861-4132 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
TERRITORY CHANGES. Rockwell Labs also announced the reorganization of some of its sales territories. Pat Ryan is covering the Northeast territory, which includes New England and the Atlantic Coast down to Virginia and over to Ohio and Michigan – the states include ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI, NY, NK, PA, DE, MD, VA, WV, MI and OH.
Brian Sundnas is covering the South Central Territory, which includes the states of LA, AR, TX, OK, NM, and AZ. He also retains responsibility for some accounts in KS.
Wayne West has been appointed to cover the North Central territory. West has a degree in biology and spent ten years as a Scientist at a pharmaceutical research and testing lab. “What I really liked about Wayne when I interviewed him was his combination of a scientific background with a lot of practical skills,” said Spragins. “He sold me when he told me that in addition to his technical background that he had also helped a friend start a successful lawn care business and worked with his in-laws in their lawn care business from time to time, and that he had ‘built a house by himself from the foundation up’ including doing all the plumbing and electrical work. He had also done lots of electrical work with his father who is an electrical contractor. As an entrepreneurial company, we really value people who are resourceful and have a diversity of skills.”
West started with Rockwell in November 2010 and managed the process of readying Rockwell’s new facility for the manufacturing equipment, building the labs and getting everything up and running. Once this project was completed in late Spring 2011, he began in-field training and then calling on pest control companies in MO, KS, and IA. As of 2012, he is covering the states of MO, KS, IA, NE, CO, MN, SD, ND, IL, and WI.
Tom Nay continues to cover the Southeast territory, including NC, SC, GA, AL, TN and MS. Jim Shuford continues to cover Florida.
