ServiceMaster is a key sponsor of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s 2010 “Day of Service,” which takes place this Saturday throughout the city.
In addition to providing overall sponsorship funding for the Day of Service, ServiceMaster and its employees will assist with improvement projects scheduled for two area schools as well as highlight community building activities at other area schools. ServiceMaster will help to refurbish gardens and create a picnic and study area at Crenshaw High School and will provide the installation of a drip irrigation system that will support construction and ongoing maintenance of a literacy garden at Berendo Middle School. The company’s overall sponsorship of the Mayor’s Day of Service will be highlighted at the closing ceremonies at Hollenbeck Middle School and will coincide with the school’s hosting of a first-ever Farmer’s Market and Community Wellness Fair in the Boyle Heights area of Los Angeles.
ServiceMaster’s involvement shows its commitment to Mayor Villaraigosa’s efforts to improve education through the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools and to bring the benefits of healthy turf and landscape to urban schools and students.
