Manu Ginobili had many highlights during his 23-year NBA career. There is one moment in particular that stands out for Terminix, however: Oct. 31, 2009, when Ginobili helped remove a live bat from AT&T Center midway through a regular season game against Sacramento.

Terminix was so impressed by Ginobili’s calmness and elite removal skills that it is extending an offer for the future Hall of Famer to join a new team — the Terminix’s San Antonio branch as a part-time field technician specializing in bat removal.

Within a formal offer letter, San Antonio branch manager Russ Garceau wrote:

“We think you’d excel in exclusion services, given your prior experience with flying pests like bats as demonstrated during your game against Sacramento in 2009 … We’d certainly train you in on alternative methods of bat removal and provide protective gear to ensure safety is prioritized, but the calmness and timing you displayed in that moment aligns well with the skills we need to serve our customers all over San Antonio.”
