Tony MasseyFairfax, Va. — The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), which serves as the public outreach arm of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), announced the appointment of Tony Massey to its board of directors. Massey serves as president and chief operations officer of Massey Services in Orlando, Fla., where he is responsible for all company operations, including residential and commercial pest prevention, termite protection, landscape services, and Massey’s new construction division.
Massey started in the pest management business at the age of 16 as a termite technician for Terminix International, where he worked during summers. Upon graduating with a bachelor’s degree in corporate finance and investment management from the University of Alabama, he joined Massey Services as a manager trainee in 1989. Successfully completing the program, he has held various leadership positions within the company. In 2004, he was promoted to executive vice president and chief operations officer and then took the reigns as president in 2006.
Outside of the pest management industry, Massey shares his time with various civic organizations including the Orlando Museum of Art, Autism Speaks, Florida Citrus Sports, New Hope for Kids and others. He is a graduate of Leadership Orlando and completed the OPM Key Executives Program at Harvard’s Graduate School of Business Administration.

The board of directors of PPMA is comprised of representatives from member pest management and chemical manufacturing companies. Board members are appointed by the Executive Committee of PPMA, and meet two times a year to vote on policies, initiatives and budget matters on behalf of all investors of PPMA.
