SAN FRANCISO, Calif. - Phil Cooper's cross country journey came to an end on Wednesday, Aug. 1 in San Francisco, as part of the Bike the U.S. for MS TransAmerica Ride with 17 other riders.

Cooper and his crew were welcomed by members of Clark Pest Control, as the California firm hosted Cooper's tire-dipping ceremony, where the Phil Across America riders dipped their bike tires into the Pacific Ocean.

Cooper, president and CEO of Cooper Pest Solutions, Lawrenceville, N.J., organized Phil Across America to work in conjunction with the Bike The U.S. for MS and National MS Society fundraising efforts, the company said. Phil Across America has acted as a platform for various social media efforts along the way, including blog posts, photos and videos captured by Cooper on his journay and a tracking device following his progress and route.

Cooper said he felt stronger with each passing day of the ride.

"We rode through Kansas and encountered temperatures well into the 100s," Cooper said. "The Rockies were wicked climbs and the Nevada desert offered challenging headwinds. In each case, you truly have to appreciate how beautiful and picturesque the scenery is every day."

Clark Pest Control also hosted the welcome reception and a barbecue at Crissy's Field East Beach in San Francisco. 

"I live my life by the motto 'no regrets,'" Cooper said. "To live life to the fullest and help as many people as I can. I have no regrets over my first 50 years and as I start the next 50 I will continue to live by this motto. We go around this life once so I promise to make it count."
