Syngenta Professional Products
www.securechoice.us

Syngenta Professional Products this month launches its newest addition to the Optigard family of products: Optigard Flex Liquid insecticide. Optigard Flex Liquid controls a broad spectrum of ants and other nuisance arthropod pests, including cockroaches. This non-repellent insecticide has demonstrated ingestion and contact activity, the company said. It can be applied indoors and outdoors as a liquid or foam. The company said Optigard Flex Liquid will be available in limited, introductory quantities in 2008.

Optigard Flex uses the same active ingredient, thiamethoxam, as Optigard Ant Gel Bait. Because the product is non-repellent, nuisance pests won’t avoid it, the company said. Optigard Flex’s chemistry permits the active ingredient to be efficiently transferred throughout social insect populations. Optigard Flex may be used as a general surface spray, for zone treatments or for crack and crevice applications. It is approved for indoor and outdoor treatments and can be applied as a liquid or a foam. The timing of product applications is not limited, and it may be used for residential or commercial accounts.

FMC Professional Solutions

FMC Professional Solutions has received registration from the state of California for the sale and use of Transport Termiticide Insecticide and Transport GHP Insecticide. Transport GHP Insecticide is a non-repellent that combines a dual-action approach of fast-acting results and a long-lasting residual, the company said. Offering a unique formulation and low-dose technology, Transport GHP transfers among pests and is ideal for controlling ants, crickets, earwigs, mosquitoes and other household pests, according to FMC.

A non-repellent, Transport Termiticide Insecticide has demonstrated that it clears structures of termites within 30 days, the manufacturer reports. The dual-action technology delivers quick control of termites while providing the structure with long-lasting perimeter protection from Reticulitermes, Heterotermes and Coptotermes, the company said. Transport GHP comes in 0.3-ounce water-soluble bags. Transport Termiticide Insecticide is a wettable powder formulation packaged in 7.5-ounce water-soluble packets.

BioStim

MicroDrip is a compact injection system that delivers automatic microbial treatment of drain lines without 5-gallon buckets. MicroDrip injects drain lines every 15 minutes to reduce grease and organic buildup-related issues such as foul odors, slow drain lines, blockages and backups and conducive insect feeding and breeding sites. MicroDrip Drain Line Service typically adds 15 minutes or less to the total service time because the injector comes pre-programmed and refill cartridges are simple to replace, the company said. The system may be used in place of maintenance hydro-jetting and complements existing small fly programs.

Each MicroDrip Drain Line Cartridge contains a highly concentrated formula of multiple strains of naturally occurring, yet specifically isolated, bacteria with the innate ability to digest harmful grease and organic buildup. This eco-friendly formula is safe for plumbing lines, septic systems, and lift station equipment and does not contain free enzymes, caustics or fog emulsifiers that can cause pass-through, the company said.

KABA
www.kabatape.com
KABA Tape Bird Shock System introduces a 110-volt plug-in charger, offering constant power, anti-arcing and lightning protection for wet weather. The new unit will not harm birds or humans, and passes UL safety tests, the company said. Output is one quick voltage pulse followed by a long pause of one second; lock-on cannot occur. Constant power with the 110-volt charger ensures that when the tape is wet, it automatically maintains a minimum voltage level to ensure enough voltage on the tape to function against wildlife. This feature is especially beneficial for wet weather regions and electrical sub-stations. Anti-arcing virtually eliminates unwanted arcing through water droplets by regulating output voltage levels; undesirable snapping during inclement periods ceases, the company said. The new model is tailor-made to drive KABA Tape Bird Shock Systems. KABA is an ultra-thin clear tape and it is available in 50-foot rolls.

Compelling Communications

Pest control companies can now easily host a pest library on their Web sites using the new Basic Pest Library from Compelling Communications. The library contains biological information and photos of the most common pests in the U.S. linked to a homepage of photos: ants, bed bugs, boxelder bugs, brown recluse spiders, carpenter bees, cockroaches, fleas, flies, mice, mosquitoes, moths, rats, silverfish, black widow spiders, house spiders, wasps and termites.

Compelling Communications reports it developed this pest library so that pest control company Web sites can be easily enhanced with specific pest information. The copyrighted library, available for a one-time fee, comes in htm documents and image files that can be easily placed on existing Web sites. A sample of the pest library is available online.

In-Quiz-It Software
www.inquizitsoftware.com
In-Quiz-It Software has released the U-Trap-It Municipal Pest Management System. The system now incorporates GPS capabilities to geocode pest and rodent devices used in municipal pest management and vector control programs. This provides managers of those plans with a tool to conquer their complex urban pest and rodent issues thereby ensuring the success of their efforts, the company said.

The U-Trap-It System enables the technician to easily collect information that is difficult and time consuming to collect by other means. And, it does it while saving more than 25 percent of the time needed to service devices using the traditional “punch card” method, the company said. U-Trap-It then analyzes the collected information and generates maps, floor plans, reports and graphs. Managers of the pest plan will see real-time street maps displaying the geocoded devices and activity. The mapping is a visual analysis tool warning of infestation hot-spots and provides various other types of feedback such as pest management plan progress.

OvoControl
www.ovocontrol.com

EPA recently amended the OvoControl G label for resident geese. In response to requests from pest and wildlife management professionals, Innolytics revised the label to enhance the use and utility of the product, the company said.

Changes include: the definition of an “urban area” has been removed and left to the discretion of the applicator; the window for consuming OvoControl bait has been shortened to 30 minutes, consistent with bird behavior and reducing observation time; the non-target wildlife section has been simplified; redundant observation requirements have been eliminated; the acclimation period has been condensed; and redundant record keeping has been eliminated.

OvoControl G is registered for use in resident geese and ducks. The product controls egg hatchability and essentially represents non-hormonal, oral contraception for birds, the company said.

Fleetmatics
www.fleetmatics.com

With a satellite GPS solution from Fleetmatics, pest management professionals are provided with real-time information on the location and status of all assets and operators. In addition, offices may directly communicate with service technicians to efficiently and quickly adjust schedules and stops and minimize wasted time and resources, the company said.

Whether your pest management firm has one vehicle or more than 1,000, Fleetmatics can provide you with a GPS tracking system that meets your vehicle tracking needs, including real-time vehicle location, mapping and reporting. Vehicle tracking reports includes valuable information such as speeds and headings. A GPS tracking system can locate a vehicle from any computer or machine with Internet access, from anywhere on the globe at any time. Systems can also include: automated driver logs and reports; boundary and geofencing with automated alerts; and servicing alerts.
