The addition of a specially designed actuator to the SPECKOZ Multicide Wasp & Hornet Killer increases delivery rate and performance. Based on laboratory and field testing of delivery rate, the new actuator outperforms the original by 2 to 1. The new hardware is a vast improvement, the company says.

Whitmire Micro-Gen has updated the Instant Soap ’n Water foaming cleanser packaging (only the packaging design has changed, the size and product are the same). Instant Soap ’n Water is the only cleansing solution made exclusively for the pest control industry and it is known for being a convenient alternative to having a sink, water and soap in your service vehicle. Look for the new "bubbly" packaging that is now available, the company says.

Bird Barrier
Bird Barrier’s new Polly-Spike is a cost effective way to deter pigeons and larger birds from surfaces, the company says. It is 2 feet long and is available in four widths. Polly-Spike’s base is flexible so it can be mounted to curved surfaces, ledges, parapets, and roof peaks; available up to eight-inches wide making it the widest plastic spike available, Bird Barrier says. The rounded tips on the ends of each spike do not hurt the birds; it just teaches them to stay away.

FMC
FMC Software Solutions Center released its latest version of SmartBiz enterprise software for the pest management industry. SmartBiz Version 7.0 introduces a variety of new and improved functions for the business side of pest management, the company says. New components included:
• Online updates. SmartBiz software updates now available to customers via the FMC Web site.
• New interface. SmartBiz Version 7.0 has adopted the new easy-to-use Microsoft XP end-user interface. The improved interface not only looks more up-to-date, it also integrates better into XP daily usage, FMC reports.
• F1 Help available. FMC has integrated a context sensitive F1 Help system. This implementation allows the end user to click into a field, press the F1 key on their keyboard, and view a pop up window on the screen, offering descriptions of fields and instructions for use of that field or process.
• State inspection forms for desktop and hand-held PDA. SmartBiz 7.0 supports forms for 17 states. With a PDA and SmartBiz Mobile software users can enter the standard NPMA-33 inspection information in the field, as well as for the supported states.
Other features include a rate changer improvement, and a hand-held inspection report and secure digital card back-up system.
Whitmire Micro-Gen is offering pest management professionals a cash rebate for purchases of Cy-Kick CS. Licensed PMPs receive $30 cash back per case or $5 cash back per pint of Cy-Kick CS.
