By the time this issue is in your hands (or on your computer screen), the PCT Rodent Management Summit will be just about a month away. The event, to be held March 22-24 at the Hyatt Regency Union Station in St. Louis, will feature two days of in-depth sessions on the latest developments in rodent management practices in both commercial and residential accounts.
The program includes such well known names as Bobby Corrigan, Dale Kaukeinen, Jay Bruesch and more. Corrigan will headline a session titled, “An Overview of Current Rodent Management In Urban Areas and New Challenges To Come.”
The sessions will cover various rodent species PCOs encounter in different areas of the country — Norway and roof rats and the house mouse. The sessions will focus on both residential and commercial accounts, and will include discussions of food warehouses and production plants, office buildings and restaurants; and apartment buildings and other residential accounts. No matter what the service mix of your company, there will be a session covering it. Of course, CEU credits will apply for many states (check with us for specifics).
In addition, be sure to join fellow attendees prior to the official kick-off to the conference on the morning of Wednesday, March 22. PCT has arranged for a tour of one of America’s most recognized corporate symbols — the Anheuser Busch brewery. In addition to demonstrations on the brewing process for various Anheuser Busch beers, as well as visits to the famed Clydesdales stables, beechwood aging cellars and the historic brewhouse, the tour also will feature a visit by key Anheuser Busch quality assurance staff who will discuss how pest management is performed in this unique facility. Cost is $30 per person. Space is limited and advance registration and payment is required.
A highlight for The PCT Media Group at the Rodent Management Summit will be the announcement of the winner of the inaugural Crown Award for Technical Excellence, which is presented by Syngenta Professional Products and PCT. This one-of-a-kind award recognizes the critical role that technical and training directors play in the pest management industry. We’re in the home stretch of the nomination process for the award, so be sure to see page 83 of this issue to nominate a worthy training/technical director.
In addition to being a magazine that serves as an information source for our readers, these two opportunities — the PCT Rodent Management Summit and the Crown Award for Technical Excellence — illustrate we’re more than just a magazine. We’re doing everything we can to help educate and honor the professional pest management industry and we hope you take advantage of these two special events.
