ROCKFORD, Tenn. — Nisus Corporation announced the appointment of Greg Baumann to the position of vice president of technical services and regulatory affairs, effective July 21, 2014.  Baumann is an extremely well respected 35-year veteran of the pest control industry with an almost unprecedented background in all regulatory and technical areas.

Baumann previously worked with Rollins Inc., in Atlanta, where he served as vice president, training and technical services. His many responsibilities included managing their Global Training Center, developing training programs and technical protocols, managing technical assistance and supervising content development for social media.

Prior to Rollins, Baumann served the pest control industry as a regulatory and technical expert for nearly 20 years at the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), from Government Affairs Manager to Senior Vice President, Technical. In addition to helping develop the overall direction and outreach capabilities of the NPMA itself, he oversaw all technical endeavors, managed key pest control committees, worked extensively with the industry and government on regulatory and environmental issues, directed lab and field research, trained FDA and EDA inspectors, worked as the liaison for credential and research programs, acted as NPMA’s media spokesperson, and contributed heavily to the body of informational and instructional materials provided by the NPMA.

At the Hershey Foods Corporation, Baumann worked in quality auditing of food safety at manufacturing facilities in both the U.S. and Canada, which included reviewing pesticide proposals affecting the food industry, acting as the corporate pest control liaison for multiple plants and restaurants, implementing pest control programs and dealing with Canadian regulatory authorities. As an R&D Technologist, Bauman developed new processes in manufacturing for pest management.

Baumann holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Millersville State University, Millersville, Pa.

“Greg’s experience is unparalleled in the pest control industry,” says Kevin L. Kirkland, president/CEO of Nisus Corporation. “He has a firm grasp on the technical and regulatory aspect of our business, and he is extremely effective in communicating that expertise to PMPs, government agencies and even consumers, as he has demonstrated in his appearances on national television representing the industry. I believe Greg will be a tremendous contributor to the success of our customers and Nisus Corporation. He is one of the most genuine people in the industry and we are pleased to have him on the team.”

Baumann is a prolific writer and has written numerous articles for trade journals including PMP and PCT magazines. He is also a frequent speaker at national and international health protection conferences.

“Greg’s ability to work with the technical teams of our customers will give us valuable input to help fine-tune our product protocols and provide our customers an even higher level of technical expertise,” says Lee Barrett, vice president of the Nisus Pest Control Division.
