CRM platforms evolve with fixes and features. New players enter the software market. Industry- specific options expand as more pest control operations adopt new systems, and dashboards can change in the dynamic market.
Have you outgrown the platform that seemed right five years ago? Did you adopt a CRM system that’s more robust than you need? There are many reasons PMPs stay with their platform or go with another. Here are some PMPs’ driving factors for change.

A TOUGH CHANGE. When his software platform merged with a larger firm, the solution Bill Haynes thought was user-friendly became cumbersome and not right-sized for his business. While full of features, there were reports Haynes couldn’t run to meet state compliance requirements.
“There were a handful of issues that were making it difficult for us to do our job,” says Haynes, CEO of Haynes Exterminating in Buford, Ga. “The platform felt disconnected, and we couldn’t opt to keep the system we were using before.”
Migration was part of the deal.
Haynes decided the business needed to change platforms, but he continued with the existing system during the gradual transition. He landed on software that gives technicians more simple-click tools to record findings in the field and easily compiles data for compliance reports.

Technicians who caught on quickly stepped in. They assisted those who were reticent or fumbling with the new platform. “During Wednesday huddles, we would problem-solve together,” Haynes says.
NEXT STEP. While working in his father’s pest control business, Anthony Yarbrough decided to start his own: Divine Pest Pros in Hemet, Calif. But the tech generation gap is real, and his dad originally used Google Calendar and service tickets.
Yarbrough helped his dad move to a CRM platform. He saw how shifting his father’s operation to a routing and customer service platform doubled efficiency and made a marked impact on the bottom line.
“It changed our routing, our time and revenue with tracking abilities, and the communication is key,” says Yarbrough.
He chose the software for both businesses because of its user-friendly interface and ease of inputting data. “There are no hidden fees — it’s really straightforward,” he says. The 2025 PCT State of Technology survey found 42% of PMPs would switch software to get a better price for similar features.
Yarbrough said, “I can run the whole business from my phone.”
