Atlanta Plays Host To PCT Dialogue Conference

Pest Control Technology magazine is proud to announce the introduction of PCT Dialogue, an innovative business and technology conference for the pest control industry. Modeled after PCT's highly successful PCO Expo, PCT Dialogue will offer pest control professionals more than 30 individual seminars and round table sessions in a relaxed atmosphere designed to promote interaction between attendees and speakers.

Scheduled for April 27-30, 1997 at the beautiful Crowne Plaza Ravinia Hotel in Atlanta, the conference will feature an impressive array of industry business and technical experts presenting sessions on topics ranging from employee recruitment and retention to techniques for keeping family assets in the family. The educational sessions (see separate listing) will provide critical information for successfully operating a pest control business as we approach the 21st century.

"We've assembled a unique program that provides a blend of business management and technical topics that are important to PCOs," said Jeff Fenner, conference director for PCT Dialogue. "The information offered in the sessions will be practical and will come from experts who have worked extensively in the field practicing what they preach."

Fenner added that registration for PCT Dialogue is an excellent value at $295 per person. "Attendees will certainly get their money's worth at PCT Dialogue," he said. "In fact, the $295 registration fee is the same price as it was in 1989 for PCO Expo."

A REAL VALUE. With the purchase of a complete registration package, attendees will be able to choose six breakout sessions, as well two general sessions, and all scheduled meal functions. Group discounts for three or more persons from one company and single-day registrations are also available.

Among the highlights at PCT Dialogue will be the Opening Session featuring a conversation with Chuck Steinmetz, president of All America Termite & Pest Control. Hear what the top man at the country's largest privately owned pest control company has to say about the recent sale of his business to Sears, Roebuck and Co., and his future role in the company.

Other highlights include the PCT Dialogue Lunch Series featuring legendary pest control maverick Al "Bugs" Burger on Monday, April 28. And on Tuesday, April 29, one of the industry's most articulate spokesmen, Harvey Massey, president of Massey Services, Maitland, Fla., who will share his vision of the future of the pest control industry with attendees.

On Tuesday morning, attendees will hear from Bob Rosenberg, director of government affairs for the National Pest Control Association, about what's happenings on Capitol Hill in the "Washington Report" breakfast round table. On Monday and Wednesday, conference attendees will have the opportunity to have breakfast and ask questions of leading industry consultants in a relaxed round table format.

SOCIAL EVENTS. All work and no play can be tiring, so attendees of PCT Dialogue will enjoy several events where they can put their pen and paper down and relax. First, will be the PCT Dialogue Networking Reception following the Opening Session where attendees can touch base with old friends and make some new ones. Attendees will have an opportunity to take in a ball game at Atlanta's brand new Turner Field and watch the defending National League Champion Atlanta Braves take on the Los Angeles Dodgers at "An Evening At The Ballpark" on Monday night.

"We're confident that if you decide to attend the PCT Dialogue Conference, you'll walk away from the meeting with a better understanding of how to successfully operate a pest control business, and you'll have some fun in the process," Fenner said.

"You'll also develop some valuable business relationships that will pay big dividends for your company in the future."

The 1997 PCT Dialogue Conference is proudly sponsored by AgrEvo Environmental Health, B.&D.A. Weisburger Insurance, Maxforce Professional Insect Control, Paragon Professional Products, Prentiss, Inc., and Zeneca Professional Products. It is also endorsed by the United Producers, Formulators & Distributors Association, the State Forum of Pest Control Associations and the National Pest Control Association.
