LOCUST GROVE, Ga. - Bill Blasingame Sr., whose involvement in the pest control industry dates back to 1950, celebrated his 95th birthday on Aug. 7.
A University of Georgia graduate, Blasingame first worked as assistant director of entomology for the state of Georgia (1950), before leaving in 1964 to become vice president and technical director of Getz Exterminators. In 1974, Blasingame joined Stephenson Chemical Company, where he trained tens of thousands of pest management professionals from all across the U.S.
Blasingame is a past president of the National Pest Management Association and the Georgia Pest Control Association, where he is a member of that association’s Hall of Fame.
Blasingame’s son, Bill Jr., and grandson, Dylan Blasingame, own and operate Blasingame Pest Management, Locust Grove, Ga.
